After three years of waiting for new music, Ice Nine Kills fans were given just that. The band released their newest single “Hip To Be Scared” on Friday partnered with an album announcement, The Silver Scream 2: Welcome To Horrorwood, set to be slashing its way out October 15 through Fearless Records. This answers the question on whether or not fans would get a sequel to 2018’s critically acclaimed The Silver Scream.
You can stream the band’s newest single “Hip To Be Scared”, below.
Hip To Be Scared, a nod to Huey Lewis And The News 1986 single Hip To Be Square, is an American Psycho inspired track which features Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach. A bloodsoaked music video for the track was released shortly after the song had dropped with a Q&A with the band’s frontman Spencer Charnas after its premier over on YouTube about the album, American Psycho and much more.
Preorders for the album can be found on the bands merch site, which is set up like a crime scene investigation for fans to explore and try to put pieces of the puzzle together. Each exhibit on the site has a set day for their Nightmare On The Ninth each month leading up to the album’s release. While a full tracklist cannot be found currently, what you can find is that there will be fourteen tracks on the base album with four tracks having featured vocalists. Those features, aside from Jacoby Shaddix, Atreyu’s Brandon Saller, Fit For A King’s Ryan Kirby, Senses Fail’s Buddy Nielsen, and perhaps the most surprising of them all, Cannibal Corpse’s Corpsegrinder.
Until more information is unveiled for Welcome To Horrorwood fans are left with wonders of what horror movies might be covered this time. Are you excited for Ice Nine Kills’ new album? What horror movies do you hope the band covers? Let us know in the comments below!
