Legend across the boards, Lloyd “Mr. Personality” Price was a regular name in homes throughout the United States and beyond into most of the world. Pioneering multiple subgenres within RnB and Rock, Price was revered in communities in almost every musical era.
Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, Price has a slew of favorites from individuals everywhere. Some of his most notable music is still used in mainstream media, such as the song “Personality”, which can be streamed below.
Steven Van Dandt of the E Street Band spoke out on Twitter about Price’s passing, noting that Price came even before the late-Little Richard, another staple in the early days of Rock & Roll. You can find his tweet below.
