Beloved and admired around the world, author Beverly Cleary was a household name for many children internationally with her adventurous writing in texts such as Dear Mr. Henshaw and The Mouse and The Motorcycle, in addition to two separate series, Ramona, and Henry Huggins.
Cleary has won over the hearts of millions, as well as been awarded both the National Book Award in 1981, and the Newbery Medal in 1984, which is among the most honorable bestowals of child literature in the United States, according to the Association For Library Service To Children.
